SMRT has a new look. The lower side panels of their buses and cabs have a bunch of yellow/orange, orange/red, and black squares of varying size. The black ones can hardly be seen against the dark plum background of the cabs - why even have them? The squares are scattered in an irregular pattern but all are oriented with the base parallel to the ground.
What's worse than the incompatible color scheme is the message. When I see a can of Coke the gently curving white ribbon seems to say "It goes down nice and easy."
What do the scattered squares say? Rigidity. Gridlock. Disintegration. These are the last things I want to think about when looking at public transport.
